It's been a long journey for me, but still, to this day, I'm not really sure if that's just a hobby or is it something more. Lots of people I showed my pictures to told me I should make money out of it, and even if there's something to it, I keep telling them that whenever money comes into play, something that once was just a hobby becomes A LOT more. Demands appear. Time pressure. Stuff like that. And all of the sudden it's not that fun anymore. It's all about the fun, isn't it? (Well, that, and good memories)
Yes, fun and memories. Don't look for Art here. Definitely not an artist. Looking for aesthetics more than anything else. Not "expressing myself", more like trying to capture the "here and now", so someone can smile "there and then". Just a guy with a camera, lens or two, moderately advanced postprocessing software, lots of good-looking friends and always too little time.
As time passed, my collection grew and I realized it's time to show it (properly) to general public. And here's another dillema, how do I do it? External site (flickr or what have you) with big userbase from whom I can get some constructive criticism or totally self-hosted solution that enables me to do things exactly like I want to but won't get much attention?
And just because I can never decide (you'll see that in lots of galleries) on what is better - I'm doing both. Full galleries here and few shots I like the most from each on flickr. Let's see how that works out.
